Steve Cole visited last Monday and spoke at 4 inspiring events to 700 students in Reception up to Year 8! Primary students thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humour as Steve spoke about his books (Monstar's Messy School Day and the Adventure Duck series) and the power of imagination. He even played his ukelele! Year 7 and 8 students were treated to a fascinating presentation on the history of gadgets as Steve is the official writer of the Young Bond series.

Sincere thanks to students, staff and parents for making our Travelling Bookshop the best yet at Simon Balle! Primary and Year 7 students especially enjoyed visiting the bookshop filled with popular, current titles and stationery.
We took the grand total of £1756 which means £993 in books as commission. Please see the photos for some of the titles we have already chosen for our two libraries.

Debby Jones, former invigilator and parent here, visited on Friday to speak to Year 12 English Literature students as well as to staff and students at lunch time. She has recently co written and published her first book Dateline Haifa, the first in the Clements Chronicles series. After talks with Q and A about how she got into writing and the research she undertook Debby did a book signing too.
