Year 7 Drama students were considering individuals’ similarities and differences after reading part of ‘The boy in the striped pyjamas’.
Linking with chapter 10, they were given a task to meet someone for the first time and find out information about them.
What better way is there to achieve this than by copying how Bruno and Shmuel first met in the story? We went outside and literally put a physical fence/border between each partner by using our Astro Pitch; a similar boundary that separated the novel’s lead characters.
Conversations were extended as we looked at the metaphor of a barrier and a fence between people when meeting for the first time.
