SIMON BALLE SIXTH FORM

STUDY PROGRAMMES

With three flexible study programmes and 28 Level 3 qualifications to choose from, Simon Balle Sixth Form gives you the opportunity to create a programme that reflects your interests, strengths and future ambitions.

Whether you are aiming for university, a higher-level apprenticeship, employment or further study, our pathways offer different ways to achieve your goals. You can follow a traditional academic route, focus on career-focused Vocational qualifications or combine the two through our Blended pathway.

A LEVEL PATHWAY

Our A Level pathway allows you to study a combination of academic subjects in depth, developing the knowledge, critical thinking and independent learning skills needed for future study and employment.

A Levels are well established qualifications that provide an excellent foundation for students considering university or other academic and professional pathways. You will be taught by experienced subject specialists and supported to develop the confidence and independence needed to succeed beyond Sixth Form.

VOCATIONAL PATHWAY

Our Vocational pathway offers a more applied approach to Level 3 study, combining subject knowledge with practical, real-world learning.

These qualifications are designed to develop both the knowledge and skills that employers and further education providers value. They can provide a strong route into employment, apprenticeships, university and other forms of further study, depending on the qualification and your future ambitions.

BLENDED PATHWAY

Our Blended pathway allows you to combine A Level and Vocational qualifications within one study programme.

This flexible option is ideal for students who want to combine the academic depth of A Levels with the practical and applied approach of a Vocational qualification. It gives you the opportunity to build a programme around your individual strengths and interests while keeping a range of future pathways open.

FIND THE RIGHT PATHWAY FOR YOU

Choosing your Level 3 qualifications is an important decision, but you do not have to make it alone. Our Pathway Meetings provide an opportunity to discuss your subject choices, future ambitions and the programme that best suits you.

Whatever pathway you choose, you will become part of a Sixth Form community that is committed to helping you Achieve, Belong and Thrive.
