At Simon Balle All-thorugh School, we are proud to offer a broad, ambitious, and carefully sequenced curriculum that supports every student in reaching their full academic potential. Our curriculum is designed to build knowledge and skills progressively, while nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
We strongly believe there is no tension between academic success and holistic development. Alongside high achievement, we are equally committed to developing young people of strong character, confidence, and integrity, ready to thrive in the next stage of their lives.
We are incredibly proud of our 2023/24 Key Stage 4 outcomes, which demonstrate our commitment to excellence:
- Progress 8 score was above national average (83rd percentile), indicating that students achieve around half a grade higher than expected across their subjects while studying with us. A quarter of our students achieved a grade or more above expected progress in every subject.
- On our Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) which is designed to provide inspectors with a quick overview of key data points about a school’s performance, including student progress, attainment, and other relevant information we were significantly above the national average in all areas.
- Grade 5 or above in English and Maths is well above national levels, reflecting our high standards and strong teaching.
- 82% of students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, compared to the national average of 65%.
These fantastic results reflect not only the hard work of our students and staff but also the strength of our supportive and aspirational school community. We are a school where academic excellence goes hand in hand with personal growth, a place where every young person is known, challenged, and inspired.
