Sports Business Opportunity

To help young people understand these opportunities, BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC is offering a REMOTE placement called From Pitch to Profit – Create Your Own Sports Business. The experience is designed to build confidence, independence, and employability by giving participants hands-on experience in sports coaching, event planning, and the fundamentals of how a sports-based organisation operates.

During the placement, young people will:

• Support coaching sessions and learn how to lead activities, design drills, manage groups and communicate effectively.
  • Help plan and deliver a small community sports event, gaining experience with scheduling, organising equipment, budgeting and project management.
  • Build core business and leadership skills, including branding, promotion, teamwork and the essentials of running a sports-related venture.

The placement is suitable for students who enjoy sport, leadership, youth work or creative problem-solving, and for those who may not see themselves as athletes but are keen to contribute to the sport and wellbeing sector in other meaningful ways.

Sky Studios Hybrid Work Experience for 16-19 year olds

Sky Studios Elstree, located in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, is offering a 3-day hybrid work experience placement from 25–27 November 2025, designed for students aged 16–19.

What the experience involves:

• Days 1 & 2 (Virtual): Online workshops covering the production timeline, studio operations, and a deep dive into the various roles behind the camera.
• Day 3 (In-Person): A visit to Sky Studios Elstree for hands-on activities and a Sky Up Academy experience, where students will collaborate, create, and explore storytelling in a dynamic environment.

Why this matters for your students:

• Gain real insight into film and TV production.
• Engage in problem-solving tasks focused on production and sustainability challenges.
• Explore a wide range of creative and technical roles in the industry.

Given the proximity to your school, this is a fantastic chance for students to experience the industry firsthand. Students must be within a commutable distance to attend the studios on the final day. Day 1 will be a virtual event, allowing you to participate from anywhere. Day 2 will be in person at one of their campuses in Nottingham, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, or Bristol. The University of Law is the UK’s largest provider of legal education. They deliver legal training to over 90 of the top 100 law firms and will be running several lecture-style sessions designed to give you a taste of what it’s like to study law at university or through a solicitor apprenticeship.

Marine Biology/Conservation: 

From 1st–3rd July 2025 (10:00–14:30 each day), Speakers for Schools is hosting a 3-day virtual work experience in collaboration with the inspiring organisations Incredible Oceans and Crustacean Compassion.

This is a rare and valuable experience that will give students meaningful insight into the world of marine conservation and the diverse career paths available in the sector. It’s so unusual to find quality marine work experience so I am so excited with this opportunity.

Throughout the programme, students will:

• Meet and learn from professionals working in marine biology and environmental advocacy
• Discover a range of career opportunities within the marine and conservation fields
• Collaborate with peers across the UK on an engaging live project
• Gain a deeper understanding of ocean ecosystems, species welfare, and sustainable practices

About the Organisations:
Incredible Oceans makes marine science engaging and accessible, aiming to inspire respect and responsibility for our oceans through science, art, and storytelling.
Crustacean Compassion advocates for the humane treatment of decapod crustaceans, promoting ethical practices through education, policy, and industry engagement.

We believe this opportunity will especially benefit students exploring science, environmental studies, geography, or animal care, and those passionate about creating a more sustainable future. Since it’s suitable for 14-19 year olds, it could be enriching as an opportunity for Year 10 for work experience or for older students completing animal management or biology courses at college – or even passionate geography students interested in careers in stewardship.

The employers are also very engaging and inspirational – as well as being dedicated to helping young people and recruit their future workforce.
