Please support our School Fund today!

Why do we need to fundraise?

At Simon Balle, we are unashamedly ambitious for our students. While government funding covers our core teaching and learning, it does not allow us to go further:  to improve our buildings, enhance our environment, and enrich opportunities for every child.

The Simon Balle All-through School Fund plays a crucial part in making a lasting impact on our school and our students. No matter the size of the donation, every penny is put towards improving school life, and the outstanding myriad of wonderful opportunities that we wish to continue to offer for all our students.

Why your support matters

Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly towards projects that make a real difference to our students’ daily experience here at Simon Balle.

2024 saw the launch of the Simon Balle All-through School Fund and the generosity of those who donated allowed us to fund the following:

  • New carpeting in the Larch Music Room and both carpeting and new furniture in the  Secondary phase Humanities classrooms.
  • Refurbishment of the all-through farm, making it accessible for all of our students and creating an inclusive and nurturing space to be used throughout every day.
  • Purchasing of much-needed air-conditioning units and blinds for the upper classrooms of the Three Storey building in the secondary phase, making classrooms comfortable and productive learning environments.
  • Improvements to the communal spaces in the Sixth Form area, recognising that our students need inspiring spaces to study, and to rest and socialise.
  • Replenishing equipment to be used at lunchtimes in the Larch, supporting fun and creative play.

What is the main focus for this year?

There are no end of projects we would like to undertake to continue to improve the school environment for our students!

The items that currently rank highest on our priority list, and cannot be paid for without our school fund, include:

  • New all-weather shelters in playground areas to take the pressure off indoor spaces during inclement weather. This will not only allow students more space and fresh air, but will reduce wear and tear on the interior of the school.
  • A covered walkway between our changing rooms and sports hall to help keep this fabulous new facility that we have built in the best possible condition.
  • Further investment in our Larch outdoor learning areas and forest school.

How can you help and who can contribute?

Anyone can contribute! Not just parents and carers. So please spread the word to grandparents, friends, past students and their families, local businesses and anyone who might be interested in financially supporting the school. All donations, no matter how big or small, will be gratefully received.

How to contribute?

All donations, be they one-off contributions or regular monthly giving, should be made directly to the Simon Balle All-through School Fund via Goodhub:

https://www.goodhub.com/go/simon-balle-school-fund

If you are a UK taxpayer, please do add Gift Aid. This adds 25% to your donation courtesy of the UK Government and will considerably boost the overall total raised.

What is the suggested donation?

All gifts are voluntary, and we are grateful for any support. For guidance, we suggest:

£40 a year for one child at Simon Balle or £60 a year per family. This can be given as a one-off contribution or a regular monthly donation of  £3.50 per child or £5 per family.

We kindly request these payments to please be made or set up during the month of October so that we can effectively plan for and invest in the year ahead.

On behalf of our whole school community, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can continue to make Simon Balle an inspiring place for every student.

Mrs Rachel Kirk and Mr Michael Moss, Co-Headteachers.
