Our music open day timings

8.30am. Welcome to Simon Balle Music. Come and hear the Simon Balle Big Band on the main stage and visit our amazing Music Centre in the heart of the school.

Throughout the morning. There will be students working in Q1 in the music centre demonstrating our curriculum lessons and how we use technology. Musicians will be ready to welcome and guide you around the music centre. 

8.55am. Vox, our vocal collective, will be performing in the Secondary Hall, just before the secondary speech.

9.15am. The Simon Balle Big Band once again perform on the main stage.

Throughout the morning. Musicians part of our piano team will be performing in the secondary library.

In the Larch – musicians will be performing during the morning in the Larch Music Room.

8.30 – 9.40am. Our performance tent near the entrance will have Rock School bands performing, showcasing Popular Music at Simon Balle. 

9.40am. Our senior Larch choir will be performing in the Larch hall, just before the Primary speeches.

10am. A chance to meet the Director of Music in the Music Centre and find out more about our music admissions rule.

10.20 – 12 noon. Our performance tent near the entrance will have Rock School bands performing, showcasing Popular Music at Simon Balle. 

9.50am. Saxidentals, our saxophone ensemble, will be performing on the main stage.

10.25 and 11.10am. Vox, our vocal collective, will be performing in the Secondary Hall, just before the secondary speech speeches.

10.40 – 11.20 – an open String Orchestra rehearsal in

10.40am onwards. The Big Band returns to the main stage and will be joined by Saxidentals before the end of the morning.
